What’s in a name?

The name of your business or product will be the most identifiable element for the entire life of your brand. Because you are building your brand in the age of technology, take into consideration search engines. You want to grab the attention of your target audience as well as search engines. Brand names, like any other attribute of business, require brainstorming before the right idea turns into a successful concept. Creating the right name is a mix of creativity, meaning, impact, versatility, and availability. Once you have narrowed it down check to be sure the names you are interested in are not already in use by a similar company. Taking the time to come up with the right brand name will inevitably save you money in the long run. Re-branding is an expensive process and potentially risky for business. ARTdeezine’s naming process starts by exploring possibilities in each of the several categories. As you work through each category on the worksheet, you may find that some names are a combination of more than one. The goal of this exercise is to get as many ideas flowing as possible. For this reason, we ask that you contribute at least 10 (or more) ideas for each category. Even if a name sounds ridiculous write it down. Oftentimes the ridiculous names will lead you to the perfect name so don’t be afraid to write down every crazy idea that comes to mind. Trust the process and have fun!
